Opening Ceremony

This year’s destination hosts will formally welcome delegates to Calvià at the Opening Ceremony which will take place on Monday 6 October, prior to the Welcome Party.

The Ceremony will take place in the Mallorca Room at the Melià Calvià Beach Resort, where you will be welcomed by ABTA’s Chair along with dignitaries from Spain, the Balearic Islands, Mallorca and Calvià, and enjoy some special entertainment.

Welcome Party

Join us for the Welcome Party at Nikki Beach Mallorca – a luxurious retreat with stunning views of Isla de sa Porrassa in Calvià, located just few minutes’ walk from the Convention hotel. 

Sponsored by Turespaña, this event is more than just a party – it's a chance to network with fellow industry professionals, immerse yourself in the Convention spirit, and experience the warm welcome of our destination hosts. 

The evening will include culinary delights, led by Executive Chef Alex Gullberg, which will showcase a blend of global flavours and locally sourced ingredients. This will be paired with a selection of Champagne, wines, and creative cocktails, and you can expect lively entertainment at this unforgettable evening.

Host Party

On the middle night of the Convention, we will take a short drive to Balneario Illetas – a magical location with an exclusive beach club set within a private bay – for the Host Party, sponsored by Ayuntamiento de Calviá.

You will enjoy local drinks and a selection of speciality dishes from cooking stations situated throughout the venue. Lively entertainment will keep the party going until 23:00.

Sundowner reception

Join our destination hosts for a farewell drink as the sun sets on the 2025 Travel Convention. 

This farewell sundowner will take place from 18:30-19:30 on the The Level Terrace at the Melià Calvià Beach Resort.

After the reception, take the opportunity to catch up with old friends and new to experience the wide range of culinary experiences available in the Calvià region and Palma city. A list of recommended restaurants will be published on the Convention App. Make your own bookings in advance, using the details provided, or book with the Hospitality Desk during the Convention.
