COVID-19 Insurance
It is mandatory for all UK guests to be in possession of COVID-19 travel insurance prior to boarding MSC Virtuosa. Failure to produce relevant paperwork at check-in will unfortunately mean guests will be denied embarkation. Click here to book yours.
If you are using your own insurance policy, then please check that it covers and mentions the following: cruising, cancellation due to COVID-19, repatriation due to COVID-19 and medical expenses due to COVID-19.
I have only had one or no vaccination
All guests who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated, under 18 years of age, medically exempt from vaccination, have not yet received their second vaccine dose, or who have their second dose less than 14 days prior to the cruise’s time of departure, will need to have taken a PCR (molecular) or antigen (lateral flow) test within the 72 hours prior to arrival at the terminal for embarkation.Proof of a negative test result will be requested at the terminal and MSC will accept evidence such as an email, SMS, or a printed document. The test is not required for those fully vaccinated (proof of vaccination needed) or for guests under two years old. Failure to provide proof of the mandatory COVID-19 insurance policy, vaccination or medical exemption will result in the refusal of embarkation.

What time can I embark MSC Virtuosa?
Embarkation will take place between 11am-3pm. Guests will be allocated an arrival time-slot two weeks before the ship sets sail. These cannot be requested or amended. Guests must adhere to them. If you arrive before your time slot, you will be asked to wait.
COVID-19 embarkation procedure
All guests (both vaccinated and unvaccinated), will need to undergo COVID-19 screenings. This includes a COVID-19 LFT, a health questionnaire – which must be completed six hours before embarkation – and a contactless temperature check before boarding the ship.
What time can I disembark MSC Virtuosa?
Disembarkation slots are allocated the evening before guests disembark. If you need to disembark the ship earlier, you can request a “self-check-out”. You must arrange this onboard with the guest relations team by midday the day before disembarkation (so pre-noon on Monday 13 September). You will then be allowed to get off the ship – carrying your own suitcases – between 7.30-8am.
Non-UK Residents
If you are not a resident of the UK, then you are unable to board MSC Virtuosa. If you hold a non-UK passport but reside in the UK you will be asked for proof of your UK residency, via a Doctor’s note or a utility bill from your UK address.
