Extraordinary Awards

Free of charge
Open to any organisation, brand, team or individual that has navigated the pandemic in an extraordinary way. 

Whether you have run an innovative campaign on a limited budget; retained awareness of your brand through social media; launched a new product during this challenging time; or have a colleague who has gone above and beyond to support others, we would like to hear your story. 

Judges will be looking for the "extra" ordinary. Something unique that has demonstrated a powerful rationale as well as results which have had a positive impact on others in-market vertical or on wider the industry. 

Marketing Responsible and Sustainable Travel

Recognises a travel and tourism organisation that has successfully promoted a more responsible and sustainable way to travel; whether a one-off campaign or an organisation with sustainability at its heart. The judges will be interested in organisations that are genuinely looking to reduce carbon and/or preserve nature, and whose long-term changes have been well marketed to the consumer.

Judges will be looking for a genuinely responsible and sustainable brand/project with legitimate credentials and results and who view Sustainable Travel as a long term, strategic vision, not a short-term tactical initiative. The judges will be mindful of over-stated sustainable claims and green-washing, such as claims about carbon neutrality or positivity where the bulk of the activity is carbon offsetting.
Social Media

Entries should demonstrate effective use of social media to raise awareness, change perceptions, engage audiences and ultimately drive sales.

The judges will be looking for social media campaigns that have been wholly or micro/discrete social elements of a wider campaign. Measures should include how social media has impacted on wider objectives, but be directed towards the objective of the individual social media.
Technology

Early Bird   £169

Recognises the best use of technology (could include, but not limited to, app, mobile, AI, VR).

Judges will be looking for technology developments that have enhanced the customer/guest experience, and are more than just a 'gimmick'. Measures should include how this technology has increased customer satisfaction, conversion or repeat rates and contributed towards revenue.
Video, Film or TV

Early Bird   £169

Recognises the most original and creative use of video/film/TV and could be delivered through any media marketing channel. This could be a one-off or a series.

Judges will be looking for creative campaigns that have made an impact with existing and/or target new audiences to elevate the brand. Results should include, but not be limited to, awareness, acquisition, conversion and retention.
Website/Microsite

Recognises a website/microsite that reflects the vision, values, benefits and features of a product/service or organisation.

Judges will be looking for a website/microsite which has proven to be useful and a necessity to support/meet the brand and business needs. Results should include strong engagement and/or conversion metrics, plus measures on how wider activity has driven visitors to the website/microsite. 
PR

Recognises the best use of PR including experiential events. Entries could showcase a single PR initiative acting as a step on a campaign, or a longer running campaign consisting of several initiatives leading to one goal.  

Judges will be looking for a PR campaign that has demonstrated a powerful rationale as well as results which have positively impacted the brand itself, in-market vertical or wider industry.  
Content Marketing

Entries in this category will demonstrate great content delivered consistently over a period to a clearly defined target group, with the aim to deliver engaging relationships, consumer value, measurable success and converting leads into sales.

Judges will be looking for "content" (various medium, omni-channel) with a purpose. What was the reason for creating this content? Did it fulfil a particular business need? Did the results meet or exceed brand/business expectations?
Advertising Campaign – Over £250,000 media spend

A single advertisement or a series of advertisements that shared a single idea/theme which can, but does not have to, be delivered via a single medium. All elements must be paid-for advertising placements whether that be print, digital, radio, out of home or via another medium.

Judges will be looking for a campaign that had a strong objective, coupled with strong creative/content. The final results should link back to its initial targets.

Digital Marketing Campaign

Use of digital to promote a product or service. Successful campaigns will typically utilise a range of digital channels; such as PPC, SEO, Display, social media, viral, email, mobile, etc.

Judges will be looking for a digital campaign that had a strong objective, coupled with strong creative/content. The final results should link back to its initial targets. 
Integrated Campaign  – Over £500,000 media spend

Recognise the most original and best performing Integrated Campaign. The campaign will have a consistent brand message and be marketed using more than one medium, including both paid-for and non-paid-for activities.

Judges will be looking for an integrated, omni-channel campaign that had a strong objective, coupled with strong creative/content. The final results should link back to its initial targets. 
Integrated Campaign  – Under £500,000 media spend

International Campaign

Recognises campaigns delivered either entirely to non-UK markets, or across various markets, which might include the UK. A successful international campaign will combine a consistent marketing message with insight into its target markets.

Travel Brand of the Year

This category is for a travel brand that has made an indelible mark in the UK during 2021.

Judges will be looking for a brand which has made a positive impact to its audience, travel vertical or the wider industry. Measures should be across a number of efforts, ideally integrated, which all have demonstrable results. 
Agency of the Year

Recognises an Agency that displayed great understanding and success in the travel sector in 2021.

Judges will be looking for an agency that is truly an extension of the client team and has been by their side during one of the most challenging of years. The Agency should demonstrate flexibility, as well as understanding the needs of its clients.
