Julio De La Cueva

Julio DE LA CUEVA is Master Civil Engineer and member of State Corp of Civil Engineers.

Julio DE LA CUEVA has dedicated his professional career to ports working at three administration levels, for the Port Authorities of Ferrol and Gijón acting as general manager, for National Ports Agency- PUERTOS DEL ESTADO in Madrid since its creation in 1992, and for the European Commission as National port expert attached to DG Mobility.

Julio DE LA CUEVA has recently been responsible for various innovative dossiers including weighting of gross mass of containers, management of ballast waters, and provision of LNG; he is currently responsible for on-shore power as an alternative fuel for ships at berth and led the EU funded Project OPS Masterplan for Spanish ports which built OPS facilities for ferries at ports of Tenerife, Las Palmas and Palma de Mallorca.
