Vasilis Karakousis is an accomplished sustainability senior executive with over 25 years of diverse professional experience. Born in Athens in 1974, he graduated from the Mine and Metallurgical Engineering Department of the National Technical University of Athens and holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and an M.Sc. in Business Administration from Alba Graduate Business School.
Vasilis worked in London from 1998-2000 as Environmental Technology Consultant at the Interdepartmental Centre for Environmental Technology (ICCET) of Imperial College, now Centre for Environmental Policy (CEP) and in Corinth Pipeworks SA (a world leading steel pipe manufacturers for the Oil and Gas Industry, a member of the VIOCHALCO group as Quality Certification Manager (2002-2009).
In 2009 he joined TEMES SA, the developers of Costa Navarino. He is a member of the steering committee of Navarino Environmental Observatory (NEO), a cooperation between Stockholm University, the Academy of Athens and TEMES, dedicated to the study of Climate Change in the Mediterranean region.
