CAPTAIN PAT GERRITY, U.S. Coast Guard (retired)
Captain Gerrity’s career consists of 13 years with Disney, 25 years with the United States Coast Guard (USCG), and three years as the Principal and Founder of Pat Gerrity Maritime Advisors, LLC. Captain Gerrity brings deep knowledge and decades of experience to clients seeking executive-level expertise in the strategic management of security, regulatory affairs, government affairs, sustainability, emergency management, maritime operations, port operations, and marine safety. As a Coast Guard officer, Captain Gerrity completed multiple assignments of increasing responsibility in marine safety, marine investigation, port operations, marine engineering, security, and policy development. Captain Gerrity’s career in the Coast Guard included duty in Washington, DC, Asia, Honolulu, Detroit, Cleveland, St. Louis, and Portland, OR. Captain Gerrity was twice selected for command: in 2001 he was assigned as Captain of the Port of Detroit, and in 2005, he was assigned as Captain of the Port of Portland. Captain Gerrity retired from the USCG in March 2008. Three days after retiring from the USCG, Captain Gerrity joined Disney Cruise Line as their Vice President of Safety, Security, Environmental Policy, and Compliance and Designated Person Ashore. While at Disney, Captain Gerrity was involved in the significant growth of the cruise line and piloted several successful projects that enhanced the safety, security, and environmental performance of the expanding Disney fleet Captain Gerrity retired from Disney at the end of 2020 to form a Maritime Advisory Consultancy Service. As a Consultant, Captain Gerrity provides strategic guidance to domestic and international clients on various strategic maritime matters. Captain Gerrity has been published multiple times and has been a frequent presenter within the cruise industry. Captain Gerrity has a B.S. degree in Marine Engineering Technology from the Great Lakes Maritime Academy and an MBA from Indiana University. Captain Gerrity resides with his family in Orlando.
