Michele Landro

Michele is the Vice President – Head of Passenger Ships Segment of Lloyd's Register.

Michele is responsible for leading LR’s Passenger segment, ensuring its long-term, sustainable growth providing a strategic direction, and establishing and developing key client relationships, and client networks. He works with clients and the wider industry to identify opportunities where LR can provide unique products and services, and where LR’s expertise can lead the way. He works closely with LR’s Passenger Ship Support Centre and our Operations, Key Account Managers, Sales, and Marketing teams to find increased operational efficiencies for our clients while supporting them through a safe and sustainable maritime energy transition.

Michele leads LR’s relations with our clients who build, own, and operate passenger ships. He works with clients and the wider industry to provide the right solution at the right time, identifying opportunities.

Michele is also the Lloyd's Register delegate at the CSSF Steering Committee. The Cruise Safety and Sustainability Forum is a tripartite consortium of cruise ship operators, shipyards, and classification societies led by the Steering Committee.

Michele joins LR with 15 years of experience in the maritime industry, most recently from ABB USA, where he served as Global Account Manager and Head of the Global Key Account Team for Carnival Corporation, responsible for steering the sales and strategic initiatives of the company across all the Carnival brands for ABB Marine & Ports. Michele held several roles, including Europe Account Manager and Head of the Europe Key Account Team, where he managed the Carnival brands in Europe and Asia, encompassing Sales, Projects, and Operations for ABB Marine & Ports Germany in Hamburg.

He holds a Master's Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Genoa, Italy.
