Vina Jumpp

Determined and driven by her intrinsic need to make a difference, this Caribbean native who hails from the land of reggae left Jamaica in 1997 and subsequently joined the Royal Caribbean family. There is more to her than meets the eye; known to colleagues and friends alike as hardworking and dedicated, her sometimes ‘tough as nails’ persona belies a warm, caring, and kind human being. Vina’s essence can be captured in this Margaret Mead quote: “I learned the value of hard work by working hard”.

In her current role as Associate Vice President at Royal Caribbean Group she is responsible for the global procurement of Hotel, Food and Beverage commodities. Her journey to this role began long before Facebook and YouTube were created; she started as an Assistant Purchasing Agent in Food and Beverage in the Supply Chain Department. Her aspirations and determination would lead to multiple promotions, first to Purchasing Agent, then Senior Purchasing Agent, followed by Director, and into her current position.

Vina’s impressive knowledge of sourcing commodities globally and international export requirements has undoubtedly charted the path for a remarkable career. Vina was voted employee of the year twice, in 1999 & 2013. In 2012 she was recognized with the Supply Chain ‘Ahead of the Curve’ award for outstanding contributions to the organization.

She has a background in Marketing Management which she studied in Jamaica, and later developed an interest in wine. The quest for knowledge served as the catalyst in her pursuit of a wine education at Johnson and Wales where she acquired her Wine and Spirit Education Trust Level 3. Vina is currently pursuing an MBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Edinburgh Napier University.

Do not be fooled into thinking she is all business! Vina enjoys travelling; learning about different cultures, visiting her family in Wiesbaden, Germany and cruising on the Rhine and Mosel rivers, of course with a glass of Riesling in hand! An avid foodie and yes, you guessed it she is (perhaps uncommonly known as) an oenophile - an ardent wine lover.
