Figen Ayan

Born in Paris, Figen Ayan is a French and Turkish citizen. Ayan studied at La Sorbonne – Paris IV. Since February 2014 Figen Ayan serves as the Chief Port Officer at Galataport Istanbul. Ms. Ayan has been acting as the Board Member of MedCruise since 2011, then in 2021, was elected President of the association to represent 152 cruise ports from 22 countries in the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas.

Ayan started her professional life in the cruise industry in 1994 in various leading positions within well-known companies as port agent, tour operator, cruise port management or tour guide in French and English. Ms. Ayan has been attaching importance to personal development and is currently a certified Somatic Experiencing® practitioner (a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and stress disorders).
